A beautiful New York Naval Militia 2nd Battalion 6 Year Service Medal #201. Wonderful condition with great eye appeal and has the original ribbon, top bars and measures 4" long. Made of sterling silver and enamel by Dieges & Clust of New York. The number is machine engraved on the reverse top (see scan).If you collect New York National Guard medals than you will know that Naval Militia medals are hard to come by and much more scarce than regimental medals. This is the only one I have seen and a great opportuntity for the specialist to add a scarce medal to your collection. The 2nd Battalion came out of Bay Ridge, first mustered in June 6, 1897 at the 23rd Regiment Armory in Manhattan. Payment must be received within 14 days after auction closes. I will let you know when it arrives. If not than the auction will be void and the medal relisted. I will combine the shipping if you purchased more than one item.
