NY Philharmonic 1926 Toscanini Debut Program Description This is an eight-page progam for the Philharmonic Society of New York at Carnegie Hall on January 14 & 15, 1926. This is noted as "Mr. Toscanini's first appearance with the Philharmonic Society." This program has considerable condition issues -- aging, tears, staining, etc. However, it remains an important document of New York concert history - both in respect to the New York Philharmonic and to Toscanini. The program was a Haydn symphony, Respighi's Pines of Rome (1st NY Performance...and with a Brunswick Panatrope playing the nightingale's song), Sibelius' Swan of Tuonela, Siegfried's Death and Funeral March from Goetterdaemmerung and the overture to Weber's Euryanthe. Low starting price due to condition issues. NOTE TO INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: You are responsible for all local taxes and for any customs fees. Visit our eBay store, The Sleeping Schwa Melange.
