***Offered here is a RARE LGB NYC RR Flat Car, lettered for the Late Great New York Central Railroad. Used once on my Indoor Layout, from an original Set ( which is listed also on Ebay) so no original box, and the brake wheel and brass stem is not included, although they seem to get lost when running these cars anyway.... I had everything NYC That was made in G scale, and wanted a container train, like the NYCRR had the Flexivan super trains, an early and widespread use of containers, while lesser railroads were still using TrucTrains. I even helped get the Mark IV models made in HO gauge, but sadly not in G. When USA Trains came out with their nice container flat car sets, far too new for my era, I found that their containers were the EXACT SIZE to fit on these LGB flat cars ! If the side rails on just on side are reversed ( easy, they pull up and out ) the USA containers fit nicely between the rails ! Maybe not exactly accurate, but one way to represent those Flexivan SV - Super Van Trains that the NYC ran, way ahead of its time. They had operational priority equal to or greater than that of the dwindling passenger service. This auction is for ONE FLAT CAR ONLY, the added pictures depict what you can do with these fine cars.
