***Offered here is RARE set of Two LGB Flat Cars, lettered for the Late Great New York Central Railroad. Brand new in original box, with the brake wheels and brass stems in a small parts bag, ready to be applied. I had everything NYC That was made in G scale, and wanted a container train, like the NYCRR had the Flexivan super trains, an early and widespread use of containers, while lesser railroads were still using TrucTrains. I even helped get the Mark IV models made in HO gauge, but sadly not in G. When USA Trains came out with their nice container flat car sets, far too new for my era, I found that their containers were the EXACT SIZE to fit on these LGB flat cars ! If the side rails are reversed ( easy, they pull up and out ) the USA containers fit nicely between the rails ! Maybe not exactly accurate, but one way to represent those Flexivan SV - Super Van Trains that the NYC ran, way ahead of its time. They had operational priority equal to or greater than that of the dwindling passenger service. As always, packed carefully and shipped promptly, my excellent feedback over a decade plus is proof.
