DOUBLE SHEATHED BOXCAR This classic scale detailed boxcar were first built and arrived on tracks during World War I. These heavy 40 ton double sheathed wood clad boxcars ran freight behind all the great steam engines until the end of the era and then beyond (you could find these boxcars on tracks as late as the 1960’s. The boxcars were all wood and had “fish-belly” under-frames.
