For Sale:
One japanese iron tsuba. Wakizashi size: 70mm x 4.5mm, nakago-ana 27.5mm. Some minor gold remains. I purchased this tsuba from a reputable art and antiques dealer in Japan. He estimated its date between 1630-1670, but no papers were included, and it is not signed. It is not of the highest craftsmanship, but also not the lowest either. It is a little above average quality for the time (or so i was told). The reddish hue you see in the photos is not rust, it is a digital artifact of my camera, the tsuba is rust free, has patina. I study iaido, not the history of swords. I purchased this item because it bears striking resemblance to the crest of the University of Connecticut (w i studied medieval history and literature). So while i do understand what i was told about this item, i have no means of verifying it. Tfore, buyers must beware. I am entering the Marine corps, so i am listing this item with no reserve, it will sell. Shipping will be $7 and will include insurance. I will use FedEx, and you tfore must have a street address, and not a P.O. Box. I can not ship outside the USA. Payment should be made via Paypal, or some form of official bank check. Email me with any questions, and i will do my best to answer them.
