Up for auction is this Standard Edison cylinder antique phonograph with horn circa 1903. T are patent dates listed on a plaque that are from 1888 to 1903. The serial number is S316713. It is stamped MODEL C on the amplifier. It has an oak case that is in fair condition, although the finish is very dark with age. The gold EDISON logo on the front of the machine shows some wear, but is still readable. I have not attempted to clean the wood. Two of the corners are separating a bit and need to be reglued as shown in the photo. T is a tiny area on one of the rounded sides that is missing a little veneer. The handle is intact, but it is missing one of the small decorative balls that holds it firmly in place. The dimensions are 13" at the base, 11" high and 9 1/2" deep. It has a MORNING GLORY shaped horn that is 32" tall and 22 1/2" in diameter. The horn is fee of major dents, but shows wear to the paint. The horn does have the EDISON logo. The phonograph works and all of the parts appear to be original. I have had this machine stored for 40 years, so nothing has been added in that time period. We did purchase a reproduction crane to attach the horn to the phonograph and that is included, however, the bottom clamp is missing. The crank works as does the lever to stop the record. The inner mechansims need cleaning and oiling. T are some extra needles in a small case. T are 10 cylinder records included. They are not in the best condition and I am not sure if they are in their appropriate sleeves. I do not know anything about the mechanics of this phonograph and it is being sold as is. I will try to answer all questions as best I can. Shipping will be in two boxes and the horn will be an oversized box which is more expensive. The phonograph weighs about 7 lbs. packaged and the horn weighs about 5 lbs. packed. PLEASE DO NOT CHECK OUT UNTIL I CONTACT YOU AFTER THE AUCTION. I WILL OFFER YOU SHIPPING OPTIONS AND COSTS AFTER I DETERMINE YOUR ZIPCODE. I NORMALLY SHIP USPS PRIORITY MAIL, BUT T MAY BE A BETTER RATE FOR THIS LARGE BOX WITH A DIFFERENT CARRIER. INSURANCE IS REQUIRED AND PAID BY THE BUYER. I WILL NOT OFFER INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING ON THIS ITEM.
