About this AuctionYou are bidding on the final copy of Odball: LE . I only made nine copies. One will stay in my collection. Numbers 1-7 have been sold via Buy It Now on eBay. This last one will be sold via auction.There will only ever be nine copies of this game produced.This is a follow up to 2009's release of Odball , which was the first ever homebrew game for the Magnavox Odyssey. Each one will be individually hand numbered on the game card. This item in this auction is #8 (#1-7 have been sold, the one in my collection not numbered).Magnavox Odyssey was designed by Ralph Baer (who sadly passed away recently). It was released by Magnavox in 1972, making it the first ever video game console.About Odball: LEOdball is a two player game in which one player defends a sky castle from attack from above, and the other attacks.About Red vs. BlueRed vs. Blue is a homebrew I released in 2012 for free. It is also included on Odball: LE . In Red vs. Blue both players attempt to bonce the ball into the enemies zone. If they fail to do so then the other player takes a point.ContentsBox . I decided to not make custom cardboard boxes this time, as I did with the 2009 release of Odball . I thought to myself, "What are the best video game boxes that have ever been made? Of course they're Sega Genesis boxes! So that's what is used.Please keep in mind that these boxes are over 20 years old now, so they are not in perfect condition. The condition varies from copy to copy. I did my best to clean them up. These were the best ones that I could find. If you come across a better condition Genesis case, you can switch it out.Another thing that I like about using a Genesis box is that it fits well on a shelf, it's durable, and is easy to display.Insert . The insert and cover art design is inspired by the later released Odyssey games, such as Interplanetary Voyage . They were professionally printed and cut by Staples.Game Card #11 . Game Card #11 was never released. It was originally intended to be used for Basketball but it was cancelled and instead Basketball shares Game Card #8 with Handball . The two cards are very similar in function and Magnavox realized it would be cheaper to have two games share the same card. So, I found the specs for Game Card #11 on pong-story.com and had a few copies of it professionally made.Instructions . Two hand folded full page instruction guides are included, one for Odball and another for Red vs. Blue.Screen Overlays . The screen overlays are only as big as they need to be. You can trim them down further yourself if you choose to do so. The screen overlay for Odball is the same image as is on the cover. It differs from the original release of Odball in that the background of the Sky Castle has been removed. There are two screen overlays for Red vs. Blue , or red and one blue. All screen overlays are printed on vellum.Sand Timer . The sand timer pictured here is blue, but some games contain while or grey ones. The timer is used in Odball to determine when a round ends. Some of the cases are a bit different, and so are the timers. So they go in different places in each set. Sometimes on the game holder area, sometimes to the left of it (pictured) sometimes above. Keep this in mind when repacking your game. Find the place it fits. Contact me with questions.Score Pad . The score pad is for keeping score on Odball . This was professionally printed and cut by FedEx Office.Blue Paperclip . This is nothing special, just handy to keep the instructions and screen overlays all together. :)Note about the fuzz in the pictures:The fuzz, or static, or snow, or however you prefer to call it, is not due to the game. It's just that some TVs don't play well with Odyssey. On other televisions it has a perfect picture. It all depends on the TV. The same goes for any Odyssey game, not just this one. read more
