American, 1800. A two-sided glass and metal hinged oblong case having a finely executed allegorical marine painting contained in an eglomisé painted frame. Surrounding the painting are the words GRAND LOYAL LODGE OF ODD FELLOWS with the date DECEMBER 25, 1800 below the painting. Verso similarly painted with the words FRIENDSHIP-HARMONY, containing another portrait that is fragmented. Likely a memorial of some sort; 3` x 2.5`.
