's the most hightly detailed old or antique knife I've ever seen. All kinds of interested stuff going on without much in the way of clues as to it's origin. The pictures pretty much tell the story on this one. It is a relatively short and short bladed knife with a small tip out blade and tip out brass lighter hardware in the handle or grips. The grips appears to be bone, have a grain so are something naturally occuring, possibly made darker by the artist. It appears that the grip was carved in two halves with the top or butt end of the grips made so that they joined at the carved head of the animal. This appears to be some type of cat, lion, jaquar or something like that, very nicely detailed teeth, odd eyes. The grips are heavily detailed with some metal decorative inserts. On one side one of the insert pieces is missing. The knife is about 7.75 inches long with a 4 inch main blade, double edged, the guard is slightly loose, the main blade has surface rust and when cleaned up I'd expect some light pitting will be noted. The little tip out blade in the handle seems to be notched for some reason. It is the only place we can find any markings and at the base of the blade t are three lines of markings,,each being illegible for the first few characters,,,first line we can only make out ???RIO, or ???RIC,,second line we can make out "
