OHIO Trapezoidal Pendant Green Banded Slate

For auction : ONE Trapezoidal Pendant made of Green Banded Slate. Description: Maximum length 4" (9.72 cm), max width 1 3/8" (3.46 cm), max thickness < 1/4" (0.87 cm). Weight is 49.5 grams. Entire surface is covered in patina. T are three (3) chips: two on top (narrow end), one on bottom (wide end). These chips are also completely covered in matching patina. T is no evidence seen to indicate modern-day (1865-1930) damage to surface (spade, pick, hoe damage) made by discoverer. Perforation was well executed by maker, same drill used on both sides. Ends (top & bottom) narrow to a thin truncation; overall length has a slight curve, see photos. This was found outside Wharton Ohio, Wyandot County between 1865-1930 by Wm Secrist. On surface t are light striations and polish marks, otherwise it can be described as well polished to a smooth surface. Seller inscribed "W. Secrist Wharton Ohio" on edge. These rare pieces generally retail for $525.00 and up. Reserve is reasonable, it is priced to sell. Good Luck!
