Heres a painting from one of the great American Illustrators, Howard Christy and what a grand subject it is! You can picture this a large architectural bronze eagle on no doubt a famous building in New York City & at the foot of this sculpture is a pair of nesting birds feeding the little ones! What an amazing sight, I just cant get enough of this oil painting .It is an oil painting on artist board measuring 21 5/8 high x 15 7/8 wide, there is a sticker on the back of the board from a vintage New York art supply & the painting has the initials to the right off the eagles talons HC. All this beautiful work of art needs is a great frame either a massive heavily carved gilt wood frame or a stark contemporary frame either would do justice to the picture, The condition is excellent just a little bump on one or two of the very tips of the corners, I believe it dates to around 1920 & the surface of the painting is perfect not scratched not faded, not touched up in any way.
