This piece is from the studio of New Mexico artisans Kathy Riggs and Jake Willson. About Kathy Riggs & Jake Willson: The pottery produced by Kathy Riggs and Jake Willson is unlike any other in New Mexico. Its lines are clean and abstract and its glazes replicate the colors of the landscape - vibrant and ever changing. No two pieces are alike as each piece is individually crafted and fired. The work is arduous but the results are amazing, reflecting the diversity and multicultural heritage of this unique region. All their pottery is handmade from a strong porcelain or porcelaneous clay. Kathy and Jake have been producing museum-worthy pottery for over 35 years. Their work is featured not only in their own Ojo Sarco gallery, but in fine craft and museum shops in New Mexico and the southwest. My husband and I have travelled to New Mexico for the past 14 years. On our first drive from Santa Fe to Taos we discovered the High Road to Taos, and on that fabled road - Ojo Sarco Pottery.
