~ OLD 1940's COTTAGE~CABIN BRAIDED RUG~VINTAGE EARTHY COLORS ~ This is one of two WONDERFUL handmade 1940's braided wool rugs I'm happy to offer for your consideration that came from the same Maine lakeside cottage or "camp"âe¦ It's just so charming & imperfect unlike machine made rugs fashioned now. The rich mix of earthy colors work well with just some splashes of brighter colors to lend a bit of pizzazz! The old vintage colors are great and just in time for autumn & winter decorating, but of course also fitting for your regular year-round primitive décor as well! This is definitely made using scraps of outgrown clothing most likelyâe¦ and is entirely crafted of wool pieces! Alas, I'm sorry to have to add this into my description, but it will require just a bit of TLCâe¦ as shown in my close up, t is some wear to the outer braid, and just a short section in the middle w stitching came undone, but an easy fix. This is put together nicely with braids that are thick & pretty much uniform... and measuring at various sections, are 1" (+/- just a bit) wide throughout. It could probably use a good "beating" and I'll be happy to vacuum it before sending out, but my photos were taken before cleaning of any kind. It's nice & clean with no odors & is in what I would consider to be excellent condition for its age. A wonderful large size at 61" round ~ and just to note my photos were taken in the bright sun; colors are more muted & nicer! ~ For your convenience, insurance is optional and will be included at your request ~ Thanks for visiting my auction...
