Very nice, in my opinion, vintage around 1900 (possibly older, I don't have a book to date this piece) Alfred Williams Sheffield England EBRO Bowie Knife. This blade has loads of character. The blade is a little over 6" and the overall length is 10". Nice tight guard with no wobble that I think is made of German Nickel / Silver. I think the knife has been cleaned at some point but I'm not sure that it has ever been resharpened. I am no expert on cutlery, but it appears to me to have the original factory edge. Nice sharp tip with no hits. Very nice bone or stag grips. T is at least one (possibly two, I can't tell if the second one is a scratch or a crack) hairline crack at the rear pin and I have tried to show it in my pictures. Blade is factory engraved " + EBRO + " and tang is factory engraved " ALFRED WILLIAMS SHEFFIELD ENGLAND " in four lines. All the engraving both on the blade and tang is nice and crisp. Very nice old Bowie probably made for export to the American market. I've included quite a few pics so you can determine the condition for yourself. Adults only, please. By bidding on this item you are stating it is legal for you to buy and own it. Sorry, because of bad experiences with bidders having less than 10 positive feedbacks, I will sell to them by special arrangement only. If you have less than 10 positive feedbacks and you bid without contacting me, I will cancel your bid. Selling on Ebay requires much too much effort to have frivolous deadbeat bidders blow you off after winning the auction.. My policy is simple and effective: After payment is received, I acknowledge receipt via email then ship immediately. Nothing aggravates me more than waiting forever for an item I have paid for on Ebay. I guarantee you will not either, check my feedback to confirm. I will leave positive feedback for the buyer immediately after he/she leaves positive for me. Note: I do not use EBAY checkout. I will contact the winning bidder after the auction's conclusion. PayPal, Cashier's check, or money order on this item. Shipping costs will be around $6.00 for USPS Priority Mail but may be a little more or less depending on your location zip code. Payment is expected within 7 days of the auction's conclusion. If payment is not received within that time, I will put the item back on auction and initiate non-paying bidder action with Ebay possibly resulting in negative feedback. Serious bidders only, please. I leave feedback for everyone. If I can print the mailing label from the Postal web site, I will include free USPS Delivery Confirmation. Optional insurance is available, and if you don't choose it, I assume no responsibility for loss or damage to the item once it is shipped. I never charge the OUTRAGEOUS handling fees charged by so many other Ebay sellers now. I reserve the right to either sell or not sell at my discretion to bidders with excessive negative feedback. Have fun bidding and watch for my other great auctions.
