For auction is an official 1927 Minnesota State Fair Calendar. This calendar has many historic pictures of the old Minnesota State Fairgrounds, John Phillip Sousa, horse racing,(Dan Patch?), auto racing and the first Minnesota State Fair at Fort Snelling in 1860. Plus the fashion show, cattle exibits and the Minnesota Editor's Association. The overall color of the calendar is excellent, with only slight even aging of the paper. The calendar was assembled in order of April 1927 to March 1928. Every page promotes features at the state fair and the entry dates, show dates, etc. and highlights different exibits each month. The metal binding is in perfect shape along with the original hanging cord. Each page measures 17 1/4 by 23 inches. I will try to describe each page in order. April 1927-- Fashion Review, minor tear at edges, has tear from bottom to top of the 19. Not noticable when flat. May 1927--Cattle Show,One inch tear on bottom by the word September. June 1927-- 40,000 people in Grandstand, minor fold and minor tear on bottom edge . July 1927--Million Dollar Livestock Parade, near perfect. August 1927--Sousa and His Band Featured this Year, perfect-near mint condition! September 1927--Auto Racing, Horse Racing, Sulkys, (Dan Patch?), Roman riding,--near perfect, half inch tear at bottom. October 1927--Administration Building, mint condition, half inch tear at bottom edge. November 1927--Hippodrome, near perfect. December 1927--Agriculture Building (awesome arcitecture! ), mint condition. January 1928--Dining Hall and Floral Display, mint condition. February 1928--FIRST STATE FAIR --FORT SNELLING 1860 , absolutely perfect, mint condition! March 1928-- Minnesota Editorial Association building and group photo. 3 small edge tears. This calendar has great color with no fading and has virtually no missing pieces, just small tears. Each page in itself, is a great example of 1920's art. This calandar is totally full of great history, plus it is in wonderful shape for being 80 years old. If you know anyone who is a Minnesota State Fair fan or collector, or a serious Minnesota history collector, pass the word, they won't want to miss out on this item. If you have any questions please contact me and I will answer as soon as possible. Thanks for checking out my auctions!. After reviewing my auction listing, I have to add that my pictures do not do this calendar justice. The color and clarity of each page far exceeds what is shown by my photographs. You won't be disappointed. Thanks.
