's a nice old or antique match safe that came out of a local home in NH recently. Lots of these I've seen are designed to mount to the wall near the old cookstove in the kitchen but this one is in the shape of a fireplace and is footed or freestanding so it can be placed on a mantle or shelf,,or mounted to the wall if someone prefers. No doubt of the authenticity of this one. It could use a little light cleanup and we show in one picture that t was at one time some gold paint triming the sides and edges of the firebox that is mostly chipped and gone. The piece is about 4.25 inches wide at the hearth, 4 inches tall and 2.75 inches deep. Cast iron with remnants of black enamel. I'd say this is late 1800's to early 1900's, possibly older. No signs of abut or damage of that type noted. Nice fireplace area or woodstove area decorative with practical purpose That's about it. We'll start this old or antique match safe low so enjoy the auction. When packed it will weigh about 1.75 lbs so we'll use USPS Parcel post service as the lowest cost postal service alternative to the domestic US buyer. We have no packing or handling charge. Extra cost USPS postal services like Postal Insurance, Tracking, or Upgraded postal services are easily available should the winning bidder wish to make arrangements . This item is for sale within the Domestic US only, sorry no exceptions. Please let us know if t are any questions. We will cooperate with winners of more than one auction to combine items for postal savings whenever practical. Thank you for your interest and Good Luck!
