Handsome and impressive Limoges Cavalier plate by listed French artist, L. Coudert. This portrait portrays a handsome, pensive Cavalier, expertly painted in striking shades of burgandy, deep sienna, golden bronze, and steel grey. The Cavalier's white collar and lace is done in raised white enamel , giving it a three-dimensional appearance and feel! The scalloped rim of the plaque is trimmed with heavy gold gilding. i used a 100% xtra zoom lense to show you A TIGHT CLOSE UP of the natural wear on the gold trim..... 100 year old plate. it shows beautiful natural wear and i would expect nothing less! if THIS SHOWS THE EXPECTED LIGHT HANDLING AND WEAR, AND YET, IT IS STILL SUPERIOR and considered MINT! it is 100% AUTHENTIC!! This is pierced on the back for hanging with a copper wire attached, and measures 10 ¾" in diameter. The piece is double marked with the P. M. Mavaleix underglaze white ware mark in green , and the George Borgfeldt (Coronet) overglaze decorating mark also in the RARE green COLOR , circa 1906-1919. This vintage portrait plate has no chips, cracks, or repairs. the artist is listed and research shows this item being worth well over $500!! t is no reserve, and we will use tons of bubble wrap and included FULL INSURANCE for you! good luck!
