This listing is for a RARE wagner cast iron chicken fryer with lid. To start with I want to mention that the number 1400 is on both pieces, but the pan itself looks well used and the lid may have not been used much. Came from the same estate and believe they used the pan and not the lid and believe it may be original matched pieces. With that said I will describe the great lid first. Faint marking on inside middle is 1400 with a small line under it. Condition looks to be really good. It is dark color and has a haevy film of greese on it, like it sat or was hung above the stove and years of buildup from sitting. It is 10 1/8" by 10 1/8" and when set on table looks to be 2" tall to lid top and a tad over 3" to top of handle. Has a raised rib from center to all four corners. This ribb has some ware from rubbing on other items in a box but nothing major. It does have a little build up on outer top and bottom of edge or lip. Handle looks to be a tad wider on one end. Not sure if this was used very little of if someone redid. The pan is marked Wagner ware sidney -0-, Chicken fryer, and has the same 1400 with a small line under it as the lid. Almost looks like a 7 on handle top but I believe it is just a mark in the surface rust. Pan is 10" by 10" and 2 3/4" tall and 14 3/4" from handle tip across to far side of pan. This is well used inside is not to bad with some build up and light surface rust. Outside and handle look like some cleaned alot of the buildup off. Ware the build up is gone it is starting to get surface rust. Ware it is not gone is still black. Bottom of pan seems to have a slight warp in center it has a slight wobble when set on table. Not sure on exact age so be your own judge. Item is sold as found and should clean up nicely, but I will leave that to a more experinced, new owner. I know very little about this item so please look at photos, read description and email questions if needed. Item is sold as is. Postage will be $14.00.
