Large Size 60 Shell

Nice Condition U.S. World War Two Soldier Bring Home Helmet. Early Model 1935 Helmet. Apple Green Paint Color with decals on both sides (DD). I've electronically altered the gold tone decal on the left side for the picture to comply with ebay guidelines. The portion not shown at the bottom of the gold decal is all t Shell is marked 325 inside rear and SE 68 along the side. Also has a dome stamp, inside top, hard to read but seems to be dated 1938. Liner band is the very early aluminum non-reinforced type. Somewhat rare and hard to find these early war liners in nice shape. Markings on the aluminum liner band really stand out, highest quality, (see pictures) size 60 and on other side maker mark and 1938 date. Original WW2 leather liner is in excellent plus condition and is lightly marked size 60 on one of the fingers. Liner alone is worth the Reserve! Chinstrap looks like a replacement, appears to be not as old as the helmet & liner. Front two rivets holding on the liner band are maker marked and dated (see picture). Back rivet must be a replacement as it's slightly different lighter shade of apple green paint color. I don't see any markings visible on the rear rivet. May be marked on the other side of the rivet tabs, don't know. WHILE THIS IS AN ORIGINAL AXIS WWII HELMET AND ORIGINAL 1938 DATED LEATHER LINER, THE APPLE GREEN PAINT, I BELIEVE, IS RE-DONE AND THE 2 DECALS ARE POST WAR, I THINK. Helmet appears very nicely aged and displays well from all angles. Reserve is reasonable and appropiate for a rework helmet.
