This auction is for an old Bering Sea Eskimo carved ivory fishing lure found in Shishmaref, AK near the Bering Sea in the early 1930's. It measures just over 1 3/4 inches long by just under 1/2 inch wide at it's widest. It's carved into the shape of a sea lion and has a beautiful old patina. It would be a unique addition to any collection. It comes from the large collection of Native American Art and Artifacts of my late father in law which we've been listing for the last 1 1/2 years. He began collecting during his childhood. As an adult he became a teacher and used his summers off to pursue his passion. He lived and taught school in Alaska for many years before retiring home.
