KO BIZEN TAN-SHAPE MIZUSASHI

- The RARE traditional masterpiece of Tea ceremony utensil from mid 19 c -

Authentic Ko Bizen ( Old Bizen ware : /guide/html/bizen.html ), Tan ( Antique bamboo rice basket ) designed Mizusashi ( http://www.aisf.or.jp/~jaanus/deta/m/mizusashi.htm ) with its kiln's (or potter's) sign at the bottom, from late Edo to early Meiji period around mid 19th century. --- * Size : about D 6.8 x H 6.6 in (17 x 16.5 cm)

Unusual and very rare motif of Tan-designed Ko Bizen Mizusashi with a round-shape wooden lacquered lid (*attached in later years). Moderate size and tasteful appearance with the beautiful characteristic surface of genuine Ko Bizen ware. T his Mizusashi is the great and rare example of the traditional Ko Bizen Tea ceremony utensil ware even if you also understand by seeing its pictures and comparing with the other pieces. The condition is mint for the age with No remarkable cracks and chips but repairs at the edge (* picture#11 ) and the bottom (* picture#12 / No leaks).
