Antique Cranberry Opalescent Gold Fleck Blown Vase C. Late 1800's to Earlier 1900's Size 8 1/4" Tall x approximately 4 1/4" Wide Maker : Appears to be earlier Murano or Italian Blown Glass We are offering this beautiful older cranberry glass vase with large gold flecking and applied blown opalescent rim and feet. This beautiful vase came from a local historial district estate and was passed down to family by the great-grandparents, so we tend to believe that this is not at all a newer piece. Practically all of the items from this estate were either late 1800's to earlier l900's. Very few pieces were newer vintage items. We were advised by a niece that the grandparents traveled and much of the collection pieces were actually purchased at World Fairs and Expos. Since we are not experts in the field of art glass, we have researched the design and feel that it could possibly be an earlier Murano/Italian blown piece. From all aspects, it appears to be a free-blown piece. Any additional information verfying the maker would be welcomed and appreciated. The vase portion is a ribbed bulbous shape entirely in cranberry and gold irridescent flecked glass. The gold fleck has been added to the molten glass and is in the glass not painted on; much like many of the 18th Century pieces of Salviati and other blowers. The opalescent flared top actually appears to blend in was one with the rim. It has 6 applied opalescent glass feet. We have tried to show photos that hopefully will best describe the piece. Condition : We have double checked the piece and have found no cracks or chips of any kind, only a couple of pin point scratch marks on the bottom. This is a very heavy thick glass much like many of the Murano pieces. Very good condition for age. Will weigh between 2-3 lbs packaged. Thanks for viewing this lovely piece. Item to be paid within 5 days by Pay Pal; within 7-10 days by cashiers check/money order. Winner to notify seller within 3 days of auction end to verify payment method. We do not hold items past 7 days of an auction if we have not had any contact from the winning bidder. We appreciate your consideration of our payment details as this piece is the property of the estate family member. Serious bidders only please!
