You are bidding on a old rope knife found at an estate sale. The markings on the blade show "Parker & Field". I checked the internet and found a picture [ck pics] that showed three knives that look just like the one I have for sale. The first one [top] is a Miller Bros. knife, the second is a Parker & Field and the third is a Dehm &Co.----The artical with this photo suggests that these knives could possibly date from the Spanish -American War [1898] . It also stated that Miller Bros. might have manufactured the Parker and Field knives. I 'm not a collector so I will have to defer all this to the experts out t The knife is in pretty good shape. It looks like the handle material is "bone". T are three small cracks [see pics] in the bone handle. The pics only show two. The third crack can only be seen with a magifying loop. The knife is 4 3/4 ins. long [not counting the swivil] The rear swivel is made of brass, everything else is steel. Some surface rust on the blade and other parts. --The knife is complete --t are four rivits on each side holding the bone handle together. no bone missing. -------Shipping will be $4.00 flat rate to anyw in the U.S. thanks, email me if you need more info.
