From a website: Piseco is a small hamlet in the Town of Arietta, in Hamilton County, New York, USA. The name Piseco is that of a Native American known to an early surveyor. Located in the heart of the Adirondacks, the village is home to Piseco Lake and Piseco Airport (K09). It has a population of 200 (1990) and is located at Latitude 43°27'N and Longitude 74°31'W. Piseco Lake is an excellent summer vacation location due to being a fully navigable lake approximately 7 miles long by 1 1/2 miles wide. T are 3 State Park Campgrounds on the lake with boat launch facilities and a mixture of tent and trailer sites at each Campground. The lake also features a large number of private summer homes, some available for rent and other lodging options such as the Irodequoit Inn, Piseco Lake Lodge, and Half Moon Beach. The Piseco Lake Lodge is located on Old Piseco Road and is the general store for the area. Produce, camping goods, ice and wood can be bought t It also has a restaurant, bar and motel. They make fresh donuts daily. Piseco Lake also features the Piseco Yacht Club which runs weekly small sailboat races on the lake. These races provide an impressive visual display. (Visitors are permitted to join the races) The residents of Piseco Lake have a favorite hangout spot which is the sandbar. People anchor their boats on the sand bar and they spend the day swimming and eating. Question: w is the sandbar? ---> Answer: The sandbar is located just North and East of the southern most NYS Campground, Point Comfort. On any given summer day, you'll see several boats anchored t The Northville-Placid Trail cuts through close proximity of the lake and airport. 3 New York State Campgrounds are located on the north-west shore (Old Piseco Road)of Piseco Lake. Excellent views of the lake and surrounding area can be found from the peak of Panther Mountain via Echo Cliffs. The climb up takes about 45 minutes. The trailhead is west of the entrance of Little Sand Point campground. The climb gets steeper near the top and involves scrambling up larger rocks. The view from the top is worth the extra effort of the last steep section. Look at my other auctions for more vintage postcards as I gladly combine shipping.
