Nicely Detailed Older Pair of Larger Foo Dog Wood Carvings AUTHENTIC OLD WOOD CARVINGS ARE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO FIND AND ARE BECOMING VERY VALUABLE PIECES WE ARE SELLING THE GENUINE ARTICLES PLEASE DO NOT BE FOOLED BY OTHERS WHO ARE PASSING OFF REPRODUCTIONS OR CASTINGS DESCRIPTION Foo Dogs are regarded as the Good Luck Statues commonly used as Door Guardians in China. Let this Matching Pair of Foo Dog Figures watch over and protect you from any area you decide to display this set. These Foo Dogs were originally the corner pieces of an antique Chinese bed. The intricately carved wooden canopy of the bed had many wood panels. These Foo Dogs graced the top corners of the bed. This pair of Foo Dogs would make excellent Book Ends! Finding a Matching pair of Foo Dog figures is very difficult as many of the original antique Chinese beds are being dismantled. Each pair is Hand Carved from a solid piece of Hardwood and is estimated to be between 100 to 200 years of age. We were lucky to find a small stash of these older WELL CARVED works of art. The Wood Carvings that we are offering are crafted by the Old Chinese Masters who took great pride in their work as can be evidenced from the detail in these carvings.
