Old Civil War Union Cartridge Pouch Box w/ straps

I am not an expert in Militaria but will do my best to describe this and answer questions. Measures about 7 1/2 inches wide, I haven't seen one like this with the straps on it or the strange metal hooks on the straps. It appears the strap was once adjustable but some handy soldier stitched it together, (see pictures), leather is crackled and uncleaned as seen in pics, t are no tin liners for this. I just got an old attic that had a trunk full of items from the 18th & 19th century (see last two photos), pretty uncommon for this area of the country, a lot of which I wil be listing this week so . .... Check our other auctions for more interesting items freshly gatd from old Wisconsin estates. We are happy to combine shipping on multiple items.
