For your consideration today is this vintage Cracraft-Leich Electric Company candlestick telephone including the receiver, ringer box and leather wrapped cord. This item is in very solid condition structure wise but does need some good TLC for the surface due to some element and finish damage. The item is clearly marked on the mouth piece and mageto generator part with Cracraft-Leich Electric Company, the ear piece on this item does have some wear into the material especially on the round, removable cover that shows some light pitting around it, the lid does turn on good with the inside parts being in place, t is some inside surface rust but nothing bad, the main part of the ear piece does have a stress line crack or two that runs about an inch, t are also numerous other surface marks and the material really looks very old and rougher. T is about a 26" cord to the main base unit that does have some leather wrap, not sure how good the cord is, and some of the leather is getting brittle while some is still pretty good and solid. The longer cord measures about 54" long and also has a lot of leather wrap that is the same as just mentioned, and again, not sure how good or bad the inside cord really is. The main base for the phone is 5.25" in diameter, the base is solid but has lots of finish loss and some surface rust, and again, seems to be very solid despite the surface flaws, the main shaft for the phone is 4 5/8" long before it gets to the first chrome collar, it also has lots of surface rust, but no dents, bends or structure damage. The ear receiver hook is solid and not bent, but has lost a lot of the chrome finish, all the other chrome parts are also very solid and free of dents, etc, but does have most of the finish missing or in bad shape. T also appears to be a couple tiny screws missing. The mouth piece appears to be some kind of plastic that is in solid shape with no chips, cracks or damage, t is some paint and finish wear to both the piece and the metal plate with the name, but still very good items overall. The mouth piece measures 2" in diameter, and overall, the phone measures about 11" tall. The ringer box has not much for any finish at all, the wood is oak and all parts but the very back panel are very solid and do not appear to have any bad structure damage, with the back piece having a seperation in the middle. The crank is solid but has finish wear as are the bells which do not have any dents, but have finish that needs some help. The front, bottom has 6 slots for plugging in wires, and the top has two posts which are good. Top lid is very good and measures about 7.5" by 8.5" in size. We have also included a porclain plate and electrode something or other that is solid with normal wear, and then a small coil of old wire. The inside still holds the large generator or magneto that also appears very solid, it does not turn with the crank but did not want to try real hard, t is some surface rust on some areas like the magnets as well as some roughness on the surface in other spots, but all parts seem solid as do the gears. The condenser is also included and seems solid, but also has rust on it as do some of the misc small parts. The black box is also t as is the small paper label for some ringer instructions. Still intact well but has some damaged spots. This is a pretty solid outfit despite the obvious cosmetic flaws, but if refinished, it would be a very nice piece for any related collection!!
