Amazing Czechoslovakian Glass Fruit & Beaded Flowers Table Lamp For your consideration, a gorgeous Czech table lamp. This lamp measures approx. 16" in height with a general width (at greatest) of 8". The shade of the lamp is comprised of three tear-drop panels~ each measuring approx. 9 1/2" tall and 6" wide. Each panel has a metal (cast iron?) frame with a metal mesh attached. Glass beaded flowers in two colors (an olive and a deep green) are attached with a wired pearl. (Pearl is the size to fit inside the end of a straw.) Each panel has 12 olive glass flowers and 11 of the deeper green and each flower disc is approx. 1 3/4" diameter. These appear to be individually made and are not exact replicas of each other. The flowers slightly cupped and are all similar and relatively the same size. Each glass flower has color variations with some inclusions, which show that it is indeed hand-crafted by a true glass artisan. Each panel has one large grape cluster of individually made and wired grapes. Again, some of the grapes have inclusions (a tiny air bubble or chips of colored gold glass(?) inside). The ends of the grapes vary in size from that of a dime to a nickle. The base of this lamp looks to be cast iron. I cannot tell if this was gilded or just painted gold. I have studied this lamp and wonder if this piece might have been smoked in a house fire as t was sooty looking black dirt on it when I got it. I cleaned this off, but did not do so intensely. In one place, it does look as this might buff to a golden shine, but I have not done so and did not want to try for fear of damaging it. On the top of the lamp, t might have been a finial of sorts, but it only has a hex bolt now if it did. I also wondered if this might have been adapted from a ceiling shade of sorts. The wiring is of a type I am not familiar- it is very small and a friend told me that it was European. It will need to be re-wired as the plug was clipped off leaving only a chopped wire. I purchased this lamp for the shade, and not the base. The base is tri-footed with figures- a face or lion head of sorts- with ornate designs. I could not find any markings. T is only one broken flower, but I did manage to get one half of the broken piece. The pearl is still attached with wire to the frame. I found that the broken piece could be tucked in under the other flowers and it is not noticed unless scrutinized. (See picture showed only the attached pearl.) I found no other damage to this piece. If you collect the Czech glass fruit and flower baskets, I think you will be happy with this piece. If have not seen another like it and it is a true work of art. The colors are beautiful and typical of the Art Nouveau / Amphora / Teplitz glasswork. Very elegant and sophisticated for one who appreciates the art of this era. Please ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them. As for shipping, I have cued in the dimensions and weight of the parcel for you. Insurance will be required since this is delicate glasswork. I will mention, though, that I have noticed shipping rates for UPS and USPS are higher in my area than elsew I cannot ship something back to someone (same box, same everything) for the same price- sometimes it is doubled!!! What I have found is that Fed Ex is usually has the best rate, so if you want, you can check that and see. I will ship however you choose. Dimensions of the boxed parcel are 12" x 13" x 20 with a weight of approx. 9 lbs.
