~FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION~ A RARE ONE TIME OPPORTUNITY You will be bidding on a matched pair of DAUM art deco vases from NANCY FRANCE. Circa 1920's. They are 14in. high by 10in. (widest part) and weigh a tremendous 9lbs. 15ozs. each. They are acid etched very thick green glass (as was the style of the period), from the DAUM company at the height of it's art deco period. This resulted in a high relief art deco design of leaves and flowers. These magnificant pieces have been a matched pair for almost Ninety Years and even though my friends tell me I am nuts to not separate them I believe they should remain together so they can reach 100 years together!!! They will perfectly frame a doorway, passageway or collection. Their condition is excellent. NO cracks, NO scratches, No repairs . Both are signed DAUM NANCY with the classic Croix de Lorraine . The signature was very hard to photograph due to the fact it is NOT painted on. It was applied when molten and is an inclusion made of the same glass as the vase! It reads DAUM (cross of lorraine) NANCY FRANCE and is perfectly legible on both pieces . The acid etching is perfect and suffers no damage. The edges are perfect and suffer no roughness. T are a very few flea bites that are small and hard to find. The vases were won at a high end auction house in Chicago, ten years ago. (they are often high end dealers on ebay) The owner bought them for investment. They will turn 100 in a few years and are already appreciating rapidly. The auction value placed on them at the time was $2800 each . The lucky winner did better than that but is now (due to personal problems) forced to sell them. We have been asked to list them by a local auction but they need a larger audience which is why they are Any collector will know the value of these or can easily find a reference to validate their value!
