This is a SUPER oil painting. I'm an artist but do not know much about old oils so bear with me. I do not know what buyers expect when it comes to condition, so buy with your own knowledge. I believe this painting to be fron the 1890's or the early 1900's. To me, it is in GREAT condition. There is a MINOR spot of wear right behind the front dogs back leg. I'm sure this could be retouched if desired. The surface looks good to me. This entire piece looks original. The varnished surface is lush and glassy. There is some light crazing to the varnish. The entire work, including the frame measures 14 1/2" tall by 18" across. The FRAME alone is AMAZING! There is one TINY, TINY piece of the molding missing. This is so hard to see but needs to be noted. It looks like this painting has spent its whole life in this GRAND frame. The gold wash on the frame is original. This is an old oil painting, perfect for anyone who has a dog like the one featured. Buy with confidence! VERY AFFORDABLE! If you need any more information, including a shipping rate please email me.
