Up for Auction is an old embossed green bottle. The bottle measures right at 7 1/2" tall x 2 3/8" wide at the base. It's embossed J.O.YOUNG FREEPORT, ILLS. in a circle on the front of the bottle, J.O.Y. on the bottom and on the outside bottom edge it's marked 14 ROOT 883. The bottle was made by the ROOT GLASS COMPANY out of Terre Haute, Ind.. This Company made a lot of the early bottles for the Coca Cola Company. I'm pretty sure this bottle would of had some kind of soda in it and could of very well have been Coke. The bottle is dirty and could use a good cleaning but otherwise is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. T are quite a few of the little bubbles in the glass that you would find in a bottle this old. Questions about shipping please contact with zip code. Thanks for looking.
