I am re-listing this item due to a non paying bidder This auction is for an antique J.& W. Moir server. Cake? I'm not positive of the silver type, but I think it is probably coin silver? It measures approx. 10-3/8 inches long. Across the widest part of the serving part , at about the Spartan 's head it measures approx. 2-6/8 inches wide. Beautiful detailed design on the front of the serving part. Spartan etc. The beautiful handle is monogrammed at the top of the front with an R? The handle is in good condition, with some wear and light scratches. The back is marked; J & W Moir. NOTE: The serving end of the piece is broke at each side. It is being sold as is for repair. Above the Spartans head the metal has been bent at the center. The metal looks solid t but t is a light crease across the center. At the left side at this bent area, the metal has broke and t is a crack separation that measures approx. 1/2 of an inch long.. At the right side at this same bend area, but a little further down that the other side t is another break, crack in the metal. This one measures approx.6/8 of an inch long, but is more open at the edge and then tapers down to a tighter, more closed crack as you get closer to the center. This crack is jagged as the other side is more of a straight curved break. At this same side t is another crack that goes down the opposite way. This one is closed and you can not see through it. It measures only approx. a little over 1/8 of an inch long. With the exception of these two broken areas and the bend across the center the silver at other areas is in good condition with some scratches and wear areas.
