ART DECO FIGURAL FRENCH QUIMPER "LA PROMENUESE & POLKA" APPROX. MEASUREMENTS WATER 10 1/2"W BY 6 1/2"D BOATS 8 1/8"L BY 3 7/8"W TOTAL WEIGHT 3LBS 3.4oz This charming and delightful Quimper ensemble came from a fantastic family estate auction hald in the Midwest. Owners loved all things Art Deco and this particular grouping is quite exceptional. Fully signed HB (Hubaudiere Bosquet) on each of the pieces. I think they are serving dishes. T are two apologies to be made to the piece. T is are two small glaze flecks to one of the boats, and it appears that in the making process, a split to clay on the "ocean water" base. It is fully glazed and is not a new split. The detailing is marvelous and the boats are named by the artist. The glaze is well-applied and careful. Colours are bright and vivid. Mustard yellow and lush green on the boat dishes, and the outstanding Royal blue scrolling on the base is great. Just think this Quimper has a great look. Is highly decorative and certainly in keeping with the Era. If you are looking for an exceptional service set or love all Deco Quimper, this three piece ensemble would make a remarkable and exciting display.
