Presented is an unusual old liquid propane gas navigation light that was used on an ocean going vessel, maybe an early LPG carrier. It is an authentic, back opening Running light that is rarely seen because it is powered by LPG. Based on similar lights in stock, we believe it was manufactured in Holland. It is likely from the 1940's or earlier. This is a large light, standing a full 21" with its handle erect, and weighs a whopping 9 1/2 lbs. It should not be confused with a reproduction or replica. This light is most suitable for those who appreciate the cache, and character of nautical equipment that has been used at sea, and consequently shows appropriate marks of age, and minor imperfections, all of which we believe add to their charm. The upper most picture is the front view. This is the side view. Note the connection for LPG feed. Navigation Lights such as these are in ever increasing demand and the supply is becoming smaller and more expensive due to the ever increasing cost of ocean freight, and customs clearing expenses. Unfortunately, the scarcity of the real ones have brought on a rash of replicas and out right fakes. If you're attracted by a low price, beware. The likelihood is its a fake.
