Please Read This Auction Through I have been commissioned to sell the collection of Herbert Wilczak, the author of "Who Made That Pipe", a directory of Briar Pipe Names , their makers/sellers and countries of origin in the 19th and 20th century. Mr. Wilczak had a large, personal collection of the very finest of Briar pipes. He preferred seasoned pipes. The pipes I am selling, for the most part, are in excellent condition, with a new appearance. However Mr. Wilczak was a renouned pipe restoration man and in caring for his pipes, may have a few with repairs and I am NOT qualified to spot a professional repair. I smell a hint of tobacco and assume that most have been enjoyed. These pipes have been cared for impeccably and the mouth pieces are clean. They should make a fine addition to any collection. I am new to the pipe market and am continuing to learn....so feel free to ask any questions and I will do my very best to answer you. Although I am doing my best and my feedback shows a large amount of the pleased purchases from this estate, please DO NOT bid unless you intend to own the auctioned pipe in it's existing condition. Since I am NOT a qualified pipe dealer, t is a certain amount of risk involved and I will ad to my return policy. I will be happy to honestly answer any question to the best of my ability and I believe many of you will continue to be pleasantly surprised. Up for Auction - Reference #D11- This Briar has a lovely new appearance and is marked " GFB Hand (made by hand?) ". The original case is marked "Warranted French Briar." The entire pipe is approx. 5 1/2 inches. What appears to be an amber stem (appears to me?) measures approx. 2 1/8 inches. The bowl appears in good shape, unscrews and can be removed. T are 3 holes in the bottom to allow the smoke through. It measures approx. 2 3/4 by 1 1/2, as seen put together. I do not know what composition the bowl is actually made of. This is a nice, old, seasoned pipe that looks clean and in very nice shape for the age. T is no actual damage but it has seen some use (Now don't think because I call what I see that it's beat up....for it is not. T are no bite or teeth marks on the stem. T is some discoloration on the top of the bowl from use and a pin point of a ding on the underside of the stem. It's been "used", not abused. The case is in very nice shape. We accept Master Card & Visa through our own business. NO PAY PAL Please.
