Condition; Near Mint, T is a slight fade on the front, otherwise no problems.

Description: This is one of the nicest old Hopi coiled plaques that I have offered. The condition and design are superb. The weave is extra fine and hard with about 16 stitches to the inch. The little extras such as the imbrications on the headband, brow and feet are real pluses that indicate the competence and imagination of the weaver. Most baskets of this type come from Second Mesa on the Hopi reservation in northern Arizona .
