~ OLD HUBLEY No. 121 CAST IRON DOORSTOP~PINK ROSE BASKET ~ * * * pleased to have offered without reserve to guarantee a lucky winner * * * If you just can't have enough of these charming antique & vintage doorstops in your collection, or have a special someone in mind for the holidays, I'm delighted to offer one of my sweetest Hubley doorstops for your consideration... This features the most delightful cottagey colors in a delicate warm PiNk, baby-soft yellow and creamy ivory white roses & smaller precious blue blossoms as well as lovely foliage cascade down around the sides and absolutely brimming over the ribboned handle for a fabulous display! The detail on the basket is wonderful and the finish is nice & smooth! It is marked on the backside with the number 121 clearly visible, and I have seen this particular doorstop sold as dated anyw from the late 1800's to early 1930's... I'm not sure which is correct & will leave that up to you to determine! As I've shown in my photos, it's cHiPPy as if done on purpose to add a sprinkle of character, and the very heavy darkened iron that shows through is a sure telltale to its age! The earlier doorstops were made with a higher iron content, making them especially heavy... and this fits this perfectly. It measures 10 ½" tall, 8" in width & base is 2" deep from front to back. It weighs just shy of 6 pounds!!
