~ OLD HUBLEY No. 189 CAST IRON DOORSTOP~PINK ROSES BASKET ~ * * * Pleased to have offered without a reserve to guarantee a lucky winner * * * If you can't have enough of these charming antique & vintage doorstops in your collection, I have one of the prettiest doorstops for yours! This is one of the nicest doorstops by Hubley, with wonderful cottage colors of pinks, blues, yellows, greens, and creamy off white... a sweet Victorian basket with a PiNk bow! I believe all the paint to be original, though I'm not an expert so have a look-see at my many photos! It does show lots of pretty crackling to the paint throughout, so it would seem so! This features delightful PiNk Roses, sprigs of Lilly of the Valley and other various smaller precious blossoms as well as lovely foliage cascade down around the sides and absolutely brimming over the top of the handle for a fabulous display piece! It is marked on the backside with the number 189 clearly visible, and I have seen this particular doorstop sold as dated anyw from the late 1800's to early 1930's... I'm not sure which is correct & will leave that up to you to determine! As I've shown in my photos, it's cHiPPy as if done on purpose, and the very darkened iron that shows through is a sure telltale to its age! It measures 10 ½" tall and 7 ½" in width... and weighs over 4 pounds. Just perfectly sweet for whatever your style décor may be... from romantic cottage shabby to Paris apartment chic... set on the floor or atop your antique dresser or shelf! ~ For your convenience, insurance is included in shipping price ~ Thanks for visiting my auction...
