NO RESERVE........................................................................................This auction is for an old Japanese , Bronze , with Silver Inlay , Ikebana . or Incense Burner . The Japanese Bronze Ikebana is originally for a flower arrangement , but this piece came full of sand , and was used as an Incense Burner . It measures approx. 9 in. tall , and about 5 in. in diameter , at the top . It is 2 pieces that go together near the center , and both pieces have the same Inlaid Silver Flower design. When I purchased it , I did not notice the Silver Inlay work, as it was very tarnished. After discovering the Silver , I used a little regular toothpaste on my finger tip to polish out most of the Silver , but not disturb the dark patina on the bronze. The Silver Inlay work does not show up real well in my photos, but it does give you an idea of the floral design. Condition looks to be very nice , with no cracks , or dents. T does appear to be some scratches on each side , w t looks to be a hammered looking round trim piece. You have to get real close up to notice these scratches , but they should show up in one of my photos. The piece appears to be unmarked , but I am pretty sure it is an old Japanese piece . It's a nice heavy solid piece , that displays well , and could easily be used for fresh flowers again , by simply dumping out the sand , that it is filled with .
