NO RESERVE............... .......................................................Estate Sale item..........................................This auction is for an old Japanese style Lantern Lamp , with reverse painted glass panels . The Lamp is approx. 23 1/2 in. tall , to the top of the finial on the lantern . I can tell it has been rewired at some times , and presently appears to be in fine safe working condition . All the metal has a nice aged patina on it , showing a nice old look . Each of the glass panels have a vertical ribbed exterior , and have the original reverse painting on the inside . If you look close at my photos , you can see some of the reverse painting has flaked off , over the years . That is likely because someone used a high watt bulb in the lamp . The face on the lady is in fine condition , on all 4 panels , and itâe(tm)s just the surrounding areas that have some paint loss . I think the reverse painting needs to be sealed with some type of clear sealer , to stop further paint flaking . That makes it much easier to touch up the bare areas with a matching color art paint (Michaelâe(tm)s Craft Store ) . T are no cracks in any of the glass panels , but all need exterior cleaning . Itâe(tm)s a neat old piece , and a great piece to use as a night light , on a timer . The maximum shipping ( 15 lbs. 26x13x13 Parcel Post) cost on this item in the United States , is $20.95 , except Alaska & Hawaii maybe more , PLUS any insurance cost . Priority Mail also will cost more . Depending on how close you are to Los Angeles , this shipping cost could likely be less . Please ask all your questions before you bid .
