Up for auction is an old Japanese Samurai Wakazashi sword made by the well-known smith, Kozuke Daijo Sukesada from the Bizen school. Kozuke Daijo Sukesada was the greatest smith from the Yokoyama Bizen school, and he rates at 80 points in the Hawley reference sword guide. He lived in the mid-1600's, so this sword dates to the same era also. He was known for making flamboyant choji tempers, which this sword definitely has. The temper on this blade is very unique, and has wavy peaks that are topped off by big round islands of temper up in the blade body, going up and down the cuting edge. T and no cracks in the cutting edge, or bends in the blade. The cutting edge measures 16".The tang is signed on both sides, with one side reading "Yokoyama Kozuke Daijo Fujiwara Sukesada", and the other side reading "Bishu Osafune Ju Nin", meaning person of Bishu city. You can find other references of this smith and his work online, but is a link that shows a papered similar wakizashi by the same smith as a good reference. http://www.nihonto.us/Yokoyama%20Sukesada.htm This is a No Reserve auction starting at only $300 . Don't miss out on this chance to own a true work of art from a well known smith. Please email for more pictures and details if you'd like. Zero-feedback buyers, and buyers with recent negative feedback, should email me before bidding. All buyers must ensure that the rules in their residing location allow for the purchase and import of edged weapons. The winning buyer must respond to the invoice within 3 days.
