DESCRIPTION: This sale is for a really great old scrapbook just filled with fascinating articles and great photos and magazine covers relating to Jackie Kennedy. This scrapbook and the other one I have listed on eBay are the last ones from the same source who patiently pasted hundreds of great items related to the beloved former first lady. The scrapbook is primarily related to Jackie but t are some items related to President John Kennedy, both John and Jackie, and their children John Jr. and Caroline. T are a lot of items related to the post-presidential period and Jackie's marriage to Aristotle Onassis. The scrapbook measures a whopping 12 1/2 by 14 1/2 inches and is 4 inches thick at the spine. It is almost bursting with over 120 pages filled with great momentos that have been carefully and lovingly pasted onto them. These include covers of such magazines as People, Celebrity, Look, Motion Picture, Photoplay, Screenland, The Star, Modern Screen, Silver Screen, TV and Screen Secrets, TV Radio Mirror, Movie Life, The National Enquirer, Ladies Home Journal, Money, Lady's Circle, McCall's, Screen Life, Movie Stars, Cinema Scene, Screen Stories, LIFE, Screen Stories, Screen and TV Album, and Movie Life. I don't know if this is EVERY magazine cover on which Jackie appeared, but I'm sure it is probably close. The cover of the scrapbook is green and has "Scrapbook" written on a banner with some Victorian looking scrollwork. The interior pages are typical scrapbook type paper (like construction paper) and all the items have been glued in. The pages are held between the two hard covers by twine that runs through all the pages. This scrapbook is a wonderful look at Jackie Kennedy/Oasis and would make a great addition to any Kennedy collection. This scrapbook ALSO comes with a handful of material that was not pasted into the album. T is a COMPLETE March 25 1962 issue of Today Magazine from the Philadelphia Inquirer. This magazine features a photo of Jackie on the cover posing inside the White House. The rest of the loose pages are from tabloids and magazine. CONDITION: The scrapbook is in pretty good condition but does have some slight soiling and other minor flaws on the covers. The front cover has a tear along the edge that runs about 1/3 of the way up the edge, from the bottom. The interior pages are browned as can be expected with this type of paper. The pages themselves, however, are in pretty good condition, as are the items attached to them. Overall, this scrapbook is in pretty good condition for its age but you can tell by looking at it that it has been around for a while. SHIPPING: Shipping costs in the U.S. will be $8.00. This item will be packaged to deter damage and sent via the US Postal Service. Insurance is optional, but will cost extra if desired. I have a few other items up for sale right now, including another Kennedy scrapbook, so if you buy more than one, I'll happily combine shipping to save you money.
