This is what my dad called a sickle repair anvil, (JOHN DEERE call's it a Guard & Knife repair Block). It has JOHN DEERE stamped on the front with a JD between the two word's. It measure's 9" across & 6&1/2" deep. It stands about 5" tall at the tallest point. It is rusty & looks like it is was used a lot, but it is still in good shape & could be used again. It has several places to set the sickle & guard's for repairing them. Some of the notche's & places I am not sure what they are used for, but I am sure someone does. This is very heavy, just like an anvil & I am sure was used by some farmer that knew how everything worked. THANK'S FOR LOOKING & GOOD LUCK.
