Vintage Judaica Photo Postcard Welcome to this auction. Up for bid is a very unusual vintage Judaica photo postcard with the AZO mark on the back. On this 5 3/8" by 3 3/8" card is a picture of a group of men that I believe belonged to some sort of Hebrew literary group or Hebrew scholars; I am not certain of the English translation of the title. The posed men are numbered which corresponds to the names on the bottom of the card. After looking at the card for some time I realized that the top back row of people are larger then the actual men sitting and are posed in different positions. They appear to be some kind of background but are also numbered just like the other men. They number from 1 - 9 & the ones I can identify are prominent in Jewish history as leaders, historians, & zionists. I was able to figure out only 5 of the nine names. They are: number 2. David Ben Gurion (Prime Minister of Israel - this is a hard to find picture of him as a young man ), number 3. Yitshak Ben Zvi ( zionist & President of Israel), number 6. Eliezer Ben Yehuda ( known for the revival of the Hebrew language), number 7. Hemda ben Yehuda ( wife of Eliezer), number 8. Itamar Ben Avi ( son of Eliezer ben Jehuda) . The others I can not identify. The card is sepia in color with the photo having a slight photo negative look to it when held on an angle.
