Up for BidOld Long Spout Oil Can - Steam Locomotive Engineer's Do you like/collect railroad memorabilia? What we have for your bidding pleasure is an Old Long Spout Oil Can that steam locomotive engineers would use. Oil cans on railroads came in a great variety of sizes and styles, each size and type tailored for a different specific use. A can with a very long, narrow spout was designed to reach places needing oil that were deep inside the locomotive's machinery underneath the boiler and in between the wheels and springs. To describe this oil can, well, first it is of the very long, narrow spout design. It measures approximately 28" total height, being 6 3/4" of can or reservoir and 21 1/4" of neck or spout. The can has a heavy duty handle on the side that would accommodate a big gloved hand . T is a pump lever above the handle. The fill hole/spout has a screw-on lid that has a hole in the middle. I can find no identification or markings on this can. This can does show a well-used, hard life with lots of character. Oh, the stories it could tell! T is dirt, stains, and rust and t are numerous dents. The s pout has been repaired approximately 12" up. It comes and is As Is. This is really a nice old long spout oil can and if you need an old long spout oil can and/or you collect railroad memorabilia, this item could perhaps be just what you are looking for. Good luck with you bidding!
