~ OLD MAINE CABIN~COTTAGE BRAIDED WOOL RUG~VINTAGE COLORS ~ Another TERRIFIC old handmade oval braided rug I'm happy to have offered, and like many of my past rugs, this too comes from a Maine camp or cottage... so charming & primitive! Wonderfully imperfect and unlike the machine made rugs produced nowadays! The old vintage colors are great and just perfect for any country primitive decorating schemes with pretty browns, rusts, tans, grays, cranberry, greens, grays, blues... and black! As was frequently done it seems to have been pieced together using scraps of outgrown wool clothing. It was joined together nicely so that no stitches are visible. T are a couple of places that have separated & could easily be joined again should you desire... but it does not show when placed on the floor as you can see in my photos. The braids are nice & uniform and measuring at various sections, range from about ½" to 1" wide throughout yet this difference is not readily noticeable. It could probably use a good "beating" and I'll be happy to vacuum it before sending out. It is nice & clean, with just some minor wear and will last for MANY years to come! A nice size, it measures 32 ½" x 56 ½"or 2' 8" x 4' 8" & perfect for just about anyw! ~ For your convenience, insurance is optional & will be included upon request ~ * HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL MY CUSTOMERS, PAST & PRESENT ! * Thanks for visiting my auction...
