VINTAGE ITALIAN MAIOLICA - FAIENCE RELIEF MOLDED HAND PAINTED FOOTED CENTER BOWL I SHIP WORLDWIDE Being offered in this sale is a colorful Italian majolica footed center bowl that I believe dates to the late 1800s or possibly early 1900s. Its one of the more attractive ones that I have handled. It measures 7" tall and is 12" long x 7 3/4" wide. It has all over molded decoration which is embellished with hand painted enamel colors. On either side t are two cherubs surrounding a cartouche. On one side t is a painted figure of a man with his arms outstretched. On the other side the word MIANO is written within the cartouche. The condition is excellent. T is some underglaze staining of the crazing lines on the interior of the bowl which would clean out nicely should you choose to do so. I believe the piece may have been used as a planter at one time. Otherwise, other than a couple of small glaze rubs, t are no chips, cracks hairlines or repairs.
