Up for bids is an old pitcher which I have been told is made by McCoy. This is the second of these type pitchers in my possession that I had as decoration for my eclectic home. I acquire all of my items from local flea markets and/or estate auctions for display in my home. I simply purchase and display. This pitcher came from a flea market in South Central PA, I acquired this one over 2 years ago, and was used as decoration in my country theme kitchen. Now that we have a little one at home I am cleaning house and parting with some of my acquisitions to make room and to reduce the "clutter". I loved this pitcher from the moment I saw it. The aged yellowing of the clay is just fantastic. I am not sure if it is yellowware or not. The center band is a thick pink line with two thin blue lines on either side. Below that main band are 3 smaller individual pink bands as you work your way down to the base of the pitcher. Absoutely gorgeous and a fantastic display piece! This pitcher is marked "USA E-7" on the bottom which you can see in picture #3. The pitcher is in very good condition overall for its age. The pitcher has crazing T are no cracks or hairlines. T is one very small chip (1/8") at the very base of the pitcher that I am pointing to in picture #2 it is to the left of the tip of the pen. On the 2nd smaller pink band I can't tell if t is a makers flaw or a tiny glaze flake (position of pitcher in pic#2) as you work your way toward the handle. It measures under 1/16". Other than that this pitcher has stood up very well to the tests of time and through its uses with the previous owner. Any "bumps" you see in the pictures of the pitcher on the body are from the making of the piece and are not damage. They are excess pottery that was left on the piece during the firing and now add to the character. Please remember all of my items are sold in the exact condition in which I purchased them. Please review the item carefully before bidding. All of my sales are final . Should you require additional pictures please contact me via "Ask Seller a Question" and I will respond as promptly as I can. The pitcher stands 6" Tall. The opening is 4" across and the Pitcher is 7.25" wide from the tip of the spout to the farthest point of the handle. The base is just under 3.5" in diameter. The band decoration is approximately 1" wide measuring from the outer edges of the blue bands. The spout is in excellent condition with only a slight bit of roughness per the making on one side but has no nicks or chips. This truly is a wonderful piece and I feel that the crazing just attests to the pieces age and adds to its character when on display. I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I have. It will make a wonderful addition to someone's collection or as a display piece in someone's home.
