ON MARBLE BASE, HAD FOR MANY YEARS, HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF THIS ITEM. IN GOOD CONDITION, BASE IS 7 1/2" X 4" AND 5" TALL, HEAVY 7 LBS Hi I will tell you what I know for certain to wit:This is a statue of the suckling of Romulus and Remus twin brothers by a she wolf after they were abandoned by thier mother When grown they had a fight about w to build thier home.Like Cain Romulus killed his brother and went on to found Rome,The Eternal City,at his chosen spot on or very near the Palitine Hills. I guess and its only a guess that this was brougt back by a tourist doing The Grand Tour of Europe near the turn of the century.These peices are still being made for the tourist trade today but the qualityis seldom as good as your figurine.If you want the full story of the brothers type in thier names or the "founding of Rome" as a web search.
